Was founded in 1995 after approx. 15 self - groups had been collaborating for over 2 years. The association serves as an umbrella organisation for over 25 regional self - help groups and is the only organisation in Germany providing information, help and support for infertile couples. 
The association disseminates information on various aspects of infertility (information leaflets on medical treatment, adoption, etc.), publishes a quarterly newsletter and provides information on the internet, also a telephone hotline was started which has been very successful.
